Wiring and Mounting the Unit

Use 8 core, stranded, 0.2mm² cable. Length of cable should not exceed 30 meters. A micro-switch has been fitted to allow for monitoring when the lid is removed or if the cable to the unit has been cut. It is advisable to use a 0.5A in-line-fuse on the 12VDC supply line. Average recommended mounting height is about 1.6m. If possible, mount the unit in a covered area. Always enter the cabling to the housing from the bottom. Store the keys on site and in a safe place.

Operation

On reporting for duty, the guard must turn the key to the ON position in order to start the timer count-down cycle. The guard must reset the counter by pressing the Reset button once, before the counter reaches zero. The Reset button should be pressed once only per countdown cycle, using moderate pressure. If the counter is not reset and reaches zero value, the on-board relay will trigger, this is the FTP (FAIL TO PATROL) condition. It is possible to monitor Guard ON Duty (GON) and Guard OFF Duty (GOF) by connecting terminal on the Guard Timer Board to the transmitter’s Open/Close input. When the guard is about to go off duty, the key is turned to the OFF position thus switching the unit off.
